Sweet five-month-old Elena is scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery at 8AM on Tuesday, October 4th 2016. Her surgery was originally scheduled for Thursday, October 6th, but they moved her appointment up because of the scheduling needs of other patients with more urgent cases. They did consider having her wait an additional week, but wanted to get her in sooner rather than later since she is still healthy and it's better not to take the risk of waiting. The surgery will last about 5-6 hours, and she will remain under sedation for 12 hours after it is complete.
Thomas and Juliana are deeply grateful for the love and concern expressed by so many of you!
Please contact them through this blog instead of texting or emailing so they will be able to spend as much time as possible focusing on their baby girl over these next few days and weeks.

Kudos to Melissa for being wonderful and setting this up for us. Since the surgery was moved up, we didn't have time to get this going because we were focused on finishing other errands and projects that needed to be done before the surgery. As she stated, we will be keeping you posted as updates come to us. Thank you all for your support and we love you!
